My 10 Famous Life-Changing Inspiring Quotes
My 10 famous life-changing inspiring quotes is a post inspired by my love for good, wise words. One of my favorite things to do is collecting inspirational quotes. Thanks to Pinterest, I can find and save all the great quotes that resonate with me in one place and still find more!
Personally, I find inspirational quotes to be very helpful, I connect with words, well…wise words. I have a great number of inspirational quotes that I appreciate but will only share 10 of them in this post.
The caterpillar grows during a season of isolation. Remember that next time you’re alone. -Mandy Hales
There was a time in my when I was mostly alone. I moved from my home country to settle in South Africa. Being away from family and friends, I must confess; I had my fair share of gloomy days. One of the things I learnt to accept in my new life was isolation. The most growth I have experienced was during those moments when I had no one around me.
I love the above inspirational quote because I got to live it. We may find it hard at first to get used to being isolated, for whatever reasons but we can turn isolation into something positive. Instead of it being a time of loneliness, it can be a time of self-discovery, learning and above all, a time of growth.
Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard. – Kevin Durant
This just hits home for me, hence the reason for it to feature in my 10 famous life-changing quotes! In fact, it has become my go to inspirational quotes during those moments of discouragement. It has taught me the power of hard work, especially in a world when entitlement is prevalent.
I’m grateful to have been blessed with parents that worked hard and instilled that principle in me. Life is not easy, you may be the jack of all trades but sometimes those talents may just not be producing the desired results. When that happens, hard work will surely bring some rewards.
It takes courage to bloom. -Dhiman
Whenever I read this inspirational quote I can’t help but think of a seed. A tree is a result of a very courageous seed. The courage to wait in the ground when sown, courage to accept the nutrients and water, courage to shoot through the ground. I compare myself to the seed that goes through a rough process to become a beautiful flower or a strong tree.
If I want to bloom, that is, reach my full potential, then I must be willing to go through life processes. Most of the time the processes are painful but with courage, I can overcome and win. Even when I don’t win, an unfortunate reality, (sometimes the seed gets rotten due to some unfavorable conditions) I surely learn.
Self-care is not selfish. You cannot serve from an empty vessel.- Eleanor Brown
This for me is the best in my favorite 10 inspirational quotes. I’m sure most of us can agree that sometimes, if not most of the time we give too much of ourselves. While there’s nothing wrong with taking care of things and people, there should be some balance. When I take care of myself first, I am able to be of a greater value to those around me.
A while back i wrote a post on self-care tips. Eleanor Brown’s quote reminds me to be aware of my needs as much as I’m aware of the needs of my family and others in my circle of influence. There’s so much competing for our attention and its easy to get lost in the demands and chaos of life. It has become very needful to take care of oneself in order to thrive from season to season.
If you live for people’s acceptance, you will die from their rejection. – Lecrae
While it’s true that one thing all humans yearn for is acceptance, too much seeking after this need can lead to disappointment. The above inspirational quote serves as a reminder that I need to be WHOLE by myself first. You know, that feeling of being ENOUGH? Works magic! When I’m whole, I don’t not seek approval or validation from others. When I live for ME, I refrain from expecting a lot from other people and that brings peace of mind.
Good timber does not grow with ease, the stronger the wind, the stronger the trees. – Thomas S. Monson
Harsh but true, this inspirational quote is my motivation when I’m facing challenges. Trust me, sometimes you just need a break and have it nice and smooth for a couple of months…well, maybe years. But the reality is that we face challenges constantly and it’s easy to feel hopeless.
When I first came across this quote, it made me look at challenges and hardship from a different perspective. Maybe it’s not all bad after all, especially when I look back after passing each challenge. One thing I have learnt is that, I’m never the same person after overcoming a challenge, and I know there is an end to it eventually.
When a resolute young fellow steps up to the great bully, The World, and takes him boldly by the beard, he is often surprised to find it comes off in his hand and that it was only tied away to scare away the timid adventurers. – Ralph Waldo Emmerson
This is in my 10 famous life-changing inspiring quotes because….Well, I love Emmerson’s work and this quote helps me gather my guts when I start out on something new. I have found the quote to be so true in many instances. Many times I was scared to try something new because I had a great fear of failure. With time, I worked at my fear and resolved to take a leap of faith. most of the time what intimidated me turned to be absolutely nothing major. This quote really helps me to face my fears, not easy at first but very much possible.
You never know how strong you are until being strong is your only choice. -Bob Marley
I used to wonder how people can come out of a very bad situation and continue with life. Well, I learnt how that is possible when life presented itself upon me. Some things in life, especially challenges have a way of proving to us that we are strong and can choose to be when life happens. When we hit rock bottom, we are assured of strength from within, and that will be the ultimate answer.
The greatest work you will ever do is within the walls of your home. – Harold B Lee
This one made the list because I’m a parent and am learning how much influence I have on my family. Being a parent comes with so many responsibilities and perks too. This quote reminds me of what’s important in my life. It also helps me to become intentional as a parent. It’s daunting at times, but when I focus on getting it right in my home, for my children, then I have conquered.
When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. – Joseph P. Kennedy
Another reminder for me to join the tough band wagon and weather the storm. I’m also motivated to prepare myself for that time when the road is bumpy.
The reason why the tough gets going during tough times is because they would have prepared themselves, mentally. I might not have all the resources needed to face my tough times but I can rely on my mental strength, and do all in my power to help myself.
